Table of Contents:
Darnley Cascade
The first waterfall on the list is a cascade waterfall located at Crooks Hollow Conservation Area in Hamilton. As well as a beautiful 200m wide cascade waterfall, the area is also home to the Darnley grist mill.
The Darnley grist mill was the first mill in the area dating back to 1805 and the town’s foundation. The mill remained with the community until 1943 when it was gutted by a fire, leaving only the ruins you can see there today.
Further upstream is the Christie Lake Dam and conservation area. A great place to bring your toddler for a summer day out. Do keep in mind, you can’t park on the driveway at the waterfall. If you are staying a while, there is a parking lot about 500m east of the stream.
